Walk around your home and I'll bet you have plenty of filters. Water filters to keep our water clean and pure. Home heating and AC filters to reduce allergens. We have all of these to protect our health and the health of our families.
It's amazing what we'll do to protect things that are important to us. So, then, why do we put more emphasis on protecting our possessions than the most important asset we own - our mindset?
Have you ever gotten up in the morning excited and ready to work on building your dream? And then things happen. Your spouse is cranky. You stop for coffee and your waiter is rude. Your best friend laughs at your latest plan for greatness. You turn on the TV or radio and hear supposed adults - government leaders, religious leaders, business leaders - bickering and arguing like children. You go shopping or out for lunch and all around you people are making hateful and hurtful comments about others. And before you know it, you are sucked into all of THAT. No wonder you don't feel like pursuing your goals.
Filter what goes into your mind. If your filter is off, it's like a glaring light that affects your sight. You CAN choose what you let into your life. For example, in my home, we have stopped watching the evening news. Why? Because I don't like all the drama and negativity. I already know the world is not as it should be. I don't need to be reminded daily.
Another way I protect my mindset it to filter who I spend time with, especially on social media where it seems that the level of negativity and outright hatred has reached epidemic proportions. Almost every social media platform has a way to unfollow, unfriend, and block someone. And I know how to use them all!
It's the same with people I interact with face-to-face. If you are always negative, judgmental, whining and complaining, chances are we won't spend much time together.
I'm not saying that you will never have a disagreement with someone. And I know that you can't shut out the entire world. Sometimes you have to see the negative stuff if you are going to help change it. And yes, even I get frustrated and angry from time to time. But I'm talking about the consistent offenders. Disconnect from those who constantly seek to bring you down. They will probably never see your vision. Why allow them to cast their shadow on it? Seek out people who lift you up. Look for those who have a clear vision of their own.
Many coaches, no matter what their specialty, will encourage you to visualize your goals as a way to help reach them. But it's not enough to just visualize what you want. You can't just create good thoughts and hope they will overwhelm the bad ones. You have to actually ensure that you do not allow negative things to alter your vision or your goals.
So add one more filter to the filters you already use. Protect your mindset. Filter out negativity, anger, hatred, fear. Release it and you just might find your path to your goals just became much clearer.

Don't Let Work At Home Benefits Backfire
If you are like me, there are
a lot of reasons you decided to work from home.
At the time you made the decision, all those reasons sounded like
wonderful solutions to the problems of working outside; commuting, childcare,
and restrictive schedules, to name a few.
There appears to be a common thread among people who work from a home office. Most work-at-home folks say they chose this career path for family, convenience, and for a more relaxing work environment. All these benefits of working from home are possible to achieve, but they each have pitfalls, which are avoidable once you recognize the risks.
You now
have you home office arranged and you're enjoying the good life and all the
benefits of working from home.
Except...
Some of
the benefits have actually morphed into unexpected trouble. Let's take a look
at a few of the ways work at home assets can turn into liabilities, and how to
correct it.
I Can
Spend More Time With My Family
Skipping
the commute and time at work for a day at home with the kids, spouse, and pets
is a common reason for working from home. Everyone is happy you're right there
in your office, close at hand, all day long, accessible at the drop of a hat.
The
problem is, of course, you don't get any work done. You are just a few steps
away from everyone's wants and needs, so why wouldn't they call on you? The
solution is to set up boundaries and schedules. You have to treat your workday
as if you were gone from the house. Schedule in plenty of play time, as well,
and you will enjoy that extra time with the family that you wanted.
I Can
Get Housework Done While I Work
If you
worked outside the home for any amount of time, you'll remember how much you
disliked having to spend your evenings and weekends doing household chores. Now
that you're working at home, you can easily get those chores done during the
day.
The
problem created by this benefit of working at home is you lose focus rather
quickly. On the way down the hall you pick up the laundry. Then as you head to
the laundry room, you see dishes in the sink. Each little chore will end up
growing into larger chores if you allow it. Instead, choose an hour during your
day to catch up on a few things that would have otherwise waiting until you
arrived home at night after work. Your evenings are free, like you wanted, and
the housework gets done.
I Can
Work When I Want And How I Want
The image
of pajama-clad work at home folks is not that far-fetched. Many people like the
idea of getting the kids off to school and spouse off to work, then getting
cozy with another cup of coffee and snuggling on the couch with their laptop,
answering emails and starting their work day.
Unfortunately,
this lovely scenario can backfire. When we are in this cozy mode, we can lose
track of time. The day disappears and we are still in our pajamas and deadlines
are looming. Now we are stuck working into the night trying to get things done.
This is not the 'when and how' we planned. In order to make this benefit work
is to, again, set a schedule. Treat your work day like, well, a work day by
punching a time-clock you create for yourself. Get ready, get dressed, and get
to work.
I Can
Have My Own Peaceful Little Office
Having
your own space after perhaps sharing desks or cubbies with other workers sounds
like a nice thought. No more office politics. No more gossiping. No more
stress. Right? Just the peace and quiet of your own keyboard clicking away.
Peace and
quiet. And more peace and quiet. Now you're feeling lonely and isolated. You
begin to miss the camaraderie of having co-workers. The solution is to create a
similar circle of co-workers in your work at home situation. Reach out to
people in the same type of work, either through professional groups or social
media. Find forums that are engaging and purposeful. And don't forget to wander
out of the house routinely to meet up with friends for some face-to-face
fellowship.

Free Classic - The Science of Getting Rich
Although The Science of Getting Rich was revealed over one hundred years back, there are numerous helpful tips inside it for people that are trying to build better businesses and build better lives for themselves, their family and society as a whole.
You get what you have by doing things in a particular way and people who have been successful once will apply this to other companies and usually continue to grow rich. For people who've not discovered the simplest way to use these techniques, it does not matter how hard they work or how devoted to their jobs they are , they will never grow rich.
Wallace Wattles says in this book that any individual that can find that formula will be ready to become wealthy.
Tell Me More!
Knowing how to go about things that can make you rich is the key and that key according to Mr.Wattles is in your head. The elements are very like Steve Pavlina's ideas in his Law of Attraction.
You are in command of what you do so if you are repetitively failing and doing things wrong, it is time to figure out why. The explanations for failure are virtually always in your own subconscious mind. Inversely, individuals that are terribly successful seem to be born with this power of positive thinking and become entrepreneurs as fast as they can.
The Science of Growing Rich was written so that people could achieve a positive fashion of thinking, a sense of self worth and take that perspective out into their everyday lives to gain wealth.
The Power of Human Will
Your will is why you do everything you do, and also the reason why you cannot do things. Will is why plenty of people are awake before the alarm goes off, while others hit the snooze button - thus they are running behind all the time.
The early risers are packed with expectation and passion for the day ahead. The "snoozers" are thinking negatively, and unless they already have a bunch of money or have won the lottery, those people won't usually become wealthy.

Numerous people have gotten shocking results by applying the strategies inside The Science of Getting Rich.
It's easy to become cynical about all the numerous courses and Internet programs there are at present about making personal prosperity and being successful. This book could have dropped into obscurity. But it didn't. That's because it is full of good information!

Color Your Home Office To Create The Mood You Need
Take a
walk in the woods or stroll through an art museum and you will instantly be
aware of the color that surrounds you. What you may not be aware of is your
mind and body responding to the color on a sub-conscious level.
Chromotherapy,
or color therapy, is used in many parts of the world as a means for reaching a
person's psyche for better health and well-being. This type of therapy is not
without debate, but when you consider the importance color plays in nature, you
can see where we might want to discuss the matter further.
Surrounding
ourselves with a variety of colors, in what we wear and in our home, is
believed by many to have a very real impact on our state of mind. It is not
considered a coincidence that a woman wearing red feels more power and vigor,
while a woman dressed in blue exudes peace and tranquility.
Your home
office is the perfect place to experiment with the effect color can have on
stress, mood, and energy. Let's take a look at the kind of struggles you face
in your home office and how color might be able to switch things around a bit.
No
Energy
If you are
sitting in your home office hour after hour, staring out the window because you
simply can't get a spark going to get anything done, your energy level needs a
boost.
Red and
orange are definitely colors that will set your mood on fire. Lethargy,
tiredness, and just plain sluggishness won't last long when surrounded by these
passionate colors. Use these powerful colors as accents so they don't overwhelm
you and make you nervous instead of energized.
Anxiety
When your
mind is racing, your heart is pounding, and you find yourself pacing instead of
working, anxiety is in over-drive. This is often a result of stress and
possibly fear.
Calming,
quiet blues and greens are the colors for you. These colors create what you
might think of as a cool hand on your forehead. You can include a very soft
pink to help balance your energies. Blue, green, and soft pink; are you
thinking of a calm ocean sunset? That's the idea.
No
Focus
Sometimes
we get so involved in multi-tasking that our focus suffers. This situation
causes stress, but relieving the stress is secondary to regaining focus. We
want to fix the problem first; and the problem is lack of focus.
Clean,
crisp, fresh white helps restore clarity of thought. Include the color violet
to renew wisdom and strength to help guide you through your work and keep you
on task.
Negativity
If your
every thought seems to turn negative for no reason, and you can't talk yourself
out of this downward spiral, perhaps a dose of color to lift your mood would
help. Depending on where the sadness is coming from, colors could affect your
mood in different ways.
Yellow is
a cheerful color and can create a more positive feeling. Orange is another
color that invigorates the psyche, helping to perk up the mood. Pink can be
used in this instance as a way to balance negative energies with positive
energies so one doesn't dominate.
Stress is
caused by many factors, both internal and external. Losing focus, having
negative thoughts, feeling tired and lethargic, and feeling anxious to the
point of serious distraction, are things we may have to face as we try to
accomplish our work. Dealing with these issues in a proactive manner is the
first step to creating a real solution. Consider using color as one tool to
help alleviate these moods. It's easy to do and well worth a try.

The Next Wave of Social Network Marketing
Social network marketing has become one of the hottest profit-making ways of making money online today. Some people are earning thousands of dollars in commissions each month by utilizing this strategy. But others are failing miserably.
There are a several things you really should know with social network marketing before you enter that crowded marketing if you want to be one of the successful ones!.
You Need A Methodology in Social Network Marketing
You always have to keep an eye fixed on the competition, and that means following and watching what the competition is doing. Call it spying if you will, or research, but it is the best way to discover the reasons for their success.
When you decide to enter into social networking fray, you have got to build your personality, make people feel that they know you and like you, and most importantly trust you.
When you enter the arena of social networking, no one knows who you are. So part of the strategy is to build your internet personality. Engage with others continually. It is called "Social" networking after all.
You can't mix your personal life with your business life. When starting social networking on Facebook you must make a page for your business, and keep this completely separate.
Pictures of you at a party with a lager in your hand, and comments from your chums about how great the party was, isn't going to electrify any person if they are mixed in with your business promotions. Do you understand this? Few people will buy something from you, if they think that all you do is party each night. Keep your business and personal life separate for the most part, and brand yourself.
Social Network Marketing Using Video
There are billions of hits on videos every day on YouTube. It is one of the hottest social media marketing platforms today, and many of us make giant incomes from posting videos, so it's critical that you learn the way to make good videos that show you in them. If you hate being in front of a camera then sadly you are just going to need to become used to it, and if you do not understand how to make a video then you will have to learn. There are lots of websites that give directions. Video marketing has gotten very important, both on social media sites, and blogs and websites.
Video is the Internet's answer to old school face-to-face marketing. Remember those people who used to stand in malls and demonstrate products, and ladies that used to have Tupperware parties at home? Now they do it online with video!
Social Network Marketing is Simply Attraction Marketing
To draw in people you've got to show your face so you should be smiling. Posting a photograph of something or someone else isn't going to work.
In social media people need to feel like they know you and what makes you tick. If you do push your business through social media sites, you should expect to encounter people who want to socialize too much. You will have to learn how to be polite and still keep those distractions to a minimum. In fact, this is how you hope to earn your earnings, so you should keep your real socializing separate.
You're doing this to produce leads, and don't forget that. Think leads all of the time. Think personal branding all of the time. Always be aware that you are growing your business.
When you start to learn to do it properly, you will be ready to create enough leads on demand to have a successful business and pocket thousands of dollars in commissions. You will also be able to sign up a lot more reps by simply having a system that promotes a massive online social network marketing lead generation strategy. At Least You're Out There Doing Something!
Mistakes! Have you ever made one? Goodness knows I have! Time and time again. And you know what? I don't care. I'll keep right on making them.
Every mistake is a learning experience. I know. Most of us think mistakes are terrible things to be avoided at all costs. Successful people don't make mistakes! Smart people don't make mistakes! Only losers make mistakes.
That thought process is exactly why so many people give up on their goals. I'm sorry to be the one to have to tell you this but if you are trying to do anything new, if you are in any way stepping outside your normal comfort zone, you are going to have setbacks. Yup! You are going to make a mistake.
Does that make you a failure or a loser? Absolutely not! What does is not admitting the mistake and taking the opportunity to learn from it. For example, I did not put gas in my car last Friday. It was cold and rainy and I didn't want to mess with it. I told myself I would go do it over the weekend. But the weekend came and went and I didn't do it then either. I didn't want to run all the way into town just to get gas. I had an appointment Monday morning. I would just leave early and do it on the way.
Well I'm sure you can guess what happened Monday. Everything that could possibly go wrong did and instead of being early I was actually running late. And of course, I had completely forgotten about needing to stop for gas. I was so focused on everything else, that I didn't remember until I actually turned the ignition and saw the gas gauge. I had made a mistake. And a big one because I was 20 minutes late for my appointment. Not a good way to make an impression!
Stupid mistake? Oh yeah! Did I learn from it? You betcha! Will I ever do it again? Absolutely not! And instead of making excuses, I truthfully explained to the person I was meeting what had happened. They were a bit irritated because they were going to have to reschedule our appointment. But they did reschedule. Because they too had made stupid mistakes. And they respected the fact that I had admitted to my foolish decisions.
And so tomorrow we have another meeting set up. My gas tank is full. I have set the alarm to make sure I don't oversleep. I WILL be on time. I will not let the past interfere with my goals for tomorrow. Persistent action and continual learning lead to success.
Some of you are probably already judging or laughing at me for making such a ridiculous mistake. You think you would never do business with someone as irresponsible as I appear to be. Well you know what? I don't care. The real battle is not with you. It's with me. I have to learn to get past this. I have to make the changes to be sure it never happens again. And you soon as you learn that lesson - that the real battle is not with others but with ourselves - you will be one step closer to success.
If you're making mistakes, it means at least you're out there doing something. Make your mistakes your motivation, not your excuse.

Clean The Air With Houseplants For A Healthy Home Office
For many
decades, we have been sealing up our homes as tight as a drum to conserve
energy. As heating and cooling costs have risen, so has the effort to
weather-proof our houses.
This is
all fine and good when it comes to saving money. After all, who needs to let
their warmed or cooled air leak out of the cracks and crevices around doors and
windows? We spent good money to get our temperature inside to a comfortable
level, so let's keep that air inside.
However,
since we've started super-sealing and insulating our homes and businesses, we
have found one drawback - the lack of fresh air. These tightly closed
environments became associated with illnesses related to the pollution created
in buildings that were sealed off from any source of air cleaning or filtering
mechanism.
After
years of study by NASA researchers and scientists around the world, the answer
became evident. Man does not live on this planet alone. In fact, our existence
depends on our close relationship with other living things; namely plants. Yes,
one of the answers to indoor air pollution is the simple houseplant.
That
brings us to our healthy home office.
Many of us
work in a tightly closed environment. If you have a home office and a busy
family, you probably spend most of your time with the doors and windows closed.
If that's
the case, your air quality may not be as healthy as it should be. Air pollution
can be causing you and your body stress. Perhaps you are getting headaches more
often than you should, or you are battling a cold constantly. Itchy eyes, a
nagging sore throat, or other ailments may be caused by what's in the air in
your own home office.
According
to a NASA study, if we are to close ourselves into these sealed environments,
we must take along with us our own natural fresh air system - plants. In their
research, NASA found plants, along with their eco system (roots, soil, etc.),
reduced the air pollution created by man within these air-tight environments.
The
houseplants found to be good air purifiers include:
English
Ivy
Mother-in-Law's
Tongue
Golden
Pothos
Janet
Craig Dracaena
Chinese
Evergreen
Spider
Plants
These
plants are typically low-light loving and easy to grow with just a bit of care.
Of course,
you'll want to have your home checked for radon and install a carbon monoxide
detector. Once you have taken care of those issues, consider the air quality of
your home office. Are you constantly feeling ill when you are in your home
office? There could be reasons why your tightly closed office isn't feeling
like a healthy haven.
Now we
know that little houseplant does so much more than brighten up a room - it
actually cleans the air. Isn't it time to add a bit of greenery to your home
office?
